Spring 2026 ELP Applications Have Closed.

The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is designed to introduce underclassmen to the foundational skills necessary to succeed in business-oriented careers, including teamwork, public speaking, and professional communication. Through participation in the program, students gain early exposure to presenting ideas, collaborating in teams, and developing the confidence required to perform effectively as future analysts and leaders. At the same time, the program provides associates with the opportunity to strengthen their own leadership abilities by mentoring and guiding a team of participants.

In addition to the ELP, SWIB hosts weekly general body meetings structured around Career Labs, which focus on developing practical professional skills such as networking, public speaking, interview preparation, and industry literacy. These sessions are led by our associates and executive board members, creating a collaborative learning environment where members can practice and refine the interpersonal skills critical for success across industries.

To complement this professional development, SWIB also offers one-hour technical workshops led by our Internal Affairs team. These workshops focus on building analytical and industry-specific competencies, covering topics such as financial analysis, technical interview preparation, and data-driven problem solving. Together, these programming elements provide members with a balanced foundation of both soft skills and technical knowledge, preparing them for careers in fields such as investment banking, wealth management, consulting, and beyond.

We encourage applicants of all backgrounds and previous experience in business is not required to apply. The Associate application is open to all who have completed at least one previous semester of ELP.
