EXTERNAL EVENTS & DEI COMMITTEE

Members of SWIB benefit from exclusive informational sessions and chats with corporate partners across industries. We also host panels on a range of topics in collaboration with Cornell alumni and the SC Johnson Graduate School. Information about upcoming events can be accessed through our weekly newsletter.

2025 DEI SUMMIT

Last Spring, SWIB hosted a DEI Summit that brought together women leaders across major firms such as EY and Deloitte. The summit, sponsored by PwC, created a space for students to engage directly with accomplished professionals, gain insight into navigating careers in competitive industries, and build meaningful mentorship connections. Through programming like this, the committee aims to equip women with the resources, networks, and confidence needed to succeed while helping shape a more inclusive future for the business community.

2025 DEI COMMITTEE

Additionally, last year SWIB significantly expanded the scope and impact of our DEI initiatives by restructuring our DEI Committee under the leadership of our Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and our DEI Chair. The committee is intentionally non-selective and meets weekly to foster open, thoughtful dialogue on diversity, equity, and inclusion within the business world. These discussions center on examining structural and cultural barriers women face across industries and identifying practical strategies to create more equitable and inclusive professional environments.

Beyond conversation, the committee serves as a platform for action. Members collaborate to design initiatives that promote representation, expand access to opportunities, and support the professional development and advancement of women pursuing careers in business. The committee also engages with emerging DEI trends, shares perspectives on workplace inclusivity, and builds connections with organizations and professionals who are committed to advancing equity in the industry.

TREKS

SWIB hosts a New York City Trek each fall to explore different firms. In the fall of 2025, we had the incredible opportunity to visit LionTree, DigitalBridge, Deloitte, and UBS at their New York offices. With 50 attendees, we were able to dive deeper into each firm’s unique culture, strategic focus areas, and approach to shaping the industries they operate in. Throughout the day, we engaged in meaningful conversations with professionals across levels, gained firsthand insight into their career paths, and learned how different teams collaborate to drive impactful outcomes. In the Fall of 2024, SWIB visited the offices of PwC and Citi.
